IOT Sims
We partnered with an international energy optimisation provider to deliver secure, scalable IoT connectivity across a multi-site estate spanning five countries. Supporting over 500 live IoT SIMs, the deployment required resilient, encrypted communications capable of operating reliably across multiple territories and network environments.
At the core of the solution is a private connectivity backbone, incorporating secure SIMs, private APNs, multi-network resilience, and a centralised aggregated data pool. All 500 SIMs operate within a shared data environment, allowing usage to be balanced across countries and sites, preventing overage charges and ensuring overall connectivity costs remain tightly controlled.
Through our management portal, the entire estate is centrally monitored in real time, providing visibility of usage, performance, diagnostics, live locations and connectivity health. This enables remote provisioning, proactive monitoring, and rapid issue resolution without unnecessary site visits. Combined with intelligent optimisation hardware delivering up to 40% reductions in cooling energy consumption, the result is one integrated solution providing measurable energy savings, reduced carbon impact, and secure, cost-efficient connectivity at scale.
Layer 2 Back-up/ Failover Service
EDRTEC provides a secure Layer 2 IoT connectivity solution in partnership with VCG Technology Services, supporting a wide range of tier 1 customers across mission-critical environments. By extending private networks over cellular using Layer 2 tunnelling, devices operate as though they are on the same local network, enabling full control over routing, IP addressing, and traffic management.
This architecture removes the need for complex overlays or additional on-site hardware, making it ideal for remote locations, SD-WAN integration, primary connectivity and fixed-line failover.
All SIM estates are centrally managed through EDRTEC’s unified IoT portal, delivering real-time visibility of usage, performance, and cost.
